80% of all veteran trees in Europe are found in the UK, scattered through our rural and urban landscape, and some of our ancient Oak trees are around 1,000 years old and Yew trees are thought to be over 4,000 years old
These gnarled old warriors bring a unique sense of history to our countryside. Therefore they need sensitive management to preserve them and the unique ecosystems they support.
If you are lucky enough to own a veteran tree I can advice you on the best management to help preserve it for future generations to appreciate.
The tree shown here is known as Old Knobbley and can be found in Mistly, Essex.
